About the event

Join us for the 6th Annual Poppy Pedal Ride in 2026, rolling once again through the beautiful and delightfully quaint Amador City—California’s smallest incorporated city. This community-powered cycling celebration winds along scenic backroads and historic foothill corridors, offering something for every rider while keeping the spirit relaxed, welcoming, and fun.
Choose your adventure: spirited backroad rides (~20 miles and ~15 miles) or a family-friendly cruise (~5 miles). Routes and elevation profiles are posted below (same routes as last year). All rides are no-drop, meaning we stick together and no one gets left behind. And yes—we ride rain or shine.
RSVP is required to ride (you may RSVP at the event). A suggested $10 rider donation supports Amador Trail Stewardship (ATS) and its mission to expand recreation and stewardship opportunities in our region. All riders must sign a day-of-event use waiver. Sorry, no unaccompanied minors.
Need a bike? Thanks to Jackson Bike n’ Board and ATS, a limited number of mountain bikes are available. Jackson Bike n’ Board will also be onsite for last-minute tune-ups before rollout. You can reserve a bike in advance by calling or stopping by their shop. We recommend a mountain bike or gravel bike due to the mix of paved and dirt roads (some bumpy sections). Road bikes are welcome—our road crew shows up strong every year.
Come early and stay late to play bicycle skills games, and the Poppy Pedal Poker Run for a chance to win prizes, and —maybe even a new bike. It’s a perennial crowd favorite. We've got a Marin Wildcat 3 and a Liv Mountain bike up for grabs in that game.
Limited-run event T-shirts will be available. Save $5 by preordering, watch our socials for announcements.
Food vendors are being finalized, and as always, you can expect great energy from our local businesses, vendors, sponsors, and partners.
Mark your calendar and come ride with us, RAIN OR SHINE

The Poppy Pedal Bicycle Games, After the Ride:

Bunny Hop Challenge
Test your skills, push your limits, and see how high you can go in a fun, spectator-friendly competition for riders of all ages. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just cheering on the action, it’s the perfect way to cap off a great day on the bike. The top rider will take home two lift passes to Northstar Bike Park—so bring your hops and your game face.
Bike Limbo

Get low and roll through the Bike Limbo. This crowd-pleaser challenge puts balance, control, and style to the test as riders pass under the bar while it drops lower each round. With both adult and kid categories, everyone gets a shot at the title—so whether you’re in it to win a prize, or just here for the laughs, don’t miss your chance to ride the line between skill and wipeout.

Trackstand Challenge -Hold your line and test your balance in the Trackstand Challenge. Riders will go compete to see who can stay perfectly still the longest—no pedaling, no foot down, just pure control. It’s a deceptively tough showdown that rewards focus, finesse, and nerves of steel. The last rider standing will take home a pair of lift tickets to Northstar Bike Park—so lock in and don’t move.

PARKING
The parking is limited in and around Amador City. There is some street parking in Amador City, public parking lots and turnouts on old Hwy 49 towards Drytown. Those are the largest lots available. Amador High School is a good place to meet and carpool in if possible. Please be courteous to others in the area and do not block driveways. If we get a large scale RSVP, we will announce shuttling options. Thank you!
